B&E: MCX is on fire to expand its domestic alliances. How do these alliances help the comex to grow?? JM: The success of a commodity exchange lies in its organic growth, as it measures its penetration into the commodity user ecosystem. Our alliances are with institutions and organisations that not only help us to reach out to the commodity user base, but also to take advantage of the benefit of transparent price discovery to innocuously penetrate the ecosystem both directly and indirectly.

B&E: Compared to global giants, MCX is small. Your plans to grow...? JM: MCX is doubtlessly a starter in terms of its existence. However in terms of its performance i.e. trading volumes, it had already reached the global top 10 list as per reports by Futures Industry Association (FIA), Washington. We believe in the ‘India Growth Story’, and also trust that our strengths in technology, market domain, product innovation and regulatory governance of the market place will get us to the top five soon. Our evolution in the global markets would make India the ‘Price Setter’!
